Fall means many things, the beginning of cooler days, leaves falling and my favorite, a time to restyle your front porch! Read on for tips on how to create a warm, inviting front door that will (hopefully) inspire your neighbors to do the same and excite your guests as they enter your home all season long.
First step, decide on a general color palette. I was inspired by warm tones of orange from my pumpkins (picked up from our recent trip to Jones Family Farm), and added in yellow hues with white as the grounding neutral. I decided to try out a local, family-run nursery and shop around the corner from my home— Outdoor Design. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend you stop in for all your home needs! They have beautiful decor elements (and are already all dressed up for the holidays!) as well as garden and landscaping items. From gorgeous planters and baskets to a wonderful selection of plants and flowers, this is the perfect one-stop shop! I picked up a couple white glazed planters, woven basket lanterns, yellow mums, fantasy pumpkins, and my favorite, ornamental cabbage plants.
My favorite item, though, was this super fun placement! What a perfect way to welcome your guests into your home.

Towards the end of our shoot, we had some fun visitors — The Spice Girls! These ladies are truly a special bunch, and I am so excited to introduce them formally to our blog : ) Stay tuned for future posts on how to design a chicken coop! For now, we’ll just leave you with these fun outtakes…
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
PS. The wonderful door wreath was custom made by talented mom. I’ll push her to do a tutorial on how she made it for a future post 🙂 In the meantime, find your own beautiful wreath to decorate your door in the links below!
