Last week, I traveled to Napa for a friends wedding. Eric and I decided to make the most of our trip and spend a couple of days touring wine country by ourselves before the weekend wedding festivities. We both fell completely in love with Napa. Every rolling hill covered in grape vines, every tall cypress tree lining a driveway took us back to our honeymoon in Italy. So beautiful!
I was so inspired by the stunning landscapes and wineries full of personality in both their wines and interiors. From rustic charm to modern glam, the interiors ran the gamut reflecting each owners style. My favorites were the smaller, family owned wineries focused on hospitality and treating guests like family. But of course thats the Cornell Hotelie in me.
I wore this amazing dress from Rachel Parcell everyday collection one of my wine touring days. It was only $54 and the perfect dress for the warmer mediterranean climate! Click here to shop the dress.
In the 1970s, Jack and Dolores Cakebread offered to buy their friends ranch if they ever wanted to sell it. The friend called them up soon after to ask if they were interested. Jack, a mechanic and photographer, offered them his book advance as a down payment, $2500. The friend accepted and Cakebread Cellars was born. The Chardonnay from Cakebread was my favorite white in Napa.
The dress below is from Zara. I got so many compliments! Perfect for fall and light enough for the warmer California weather. I love the floral print and the colors! Here is the link for the dress.
70 years ago, Mario Trinchero, an Italian immigrant living in NYC, traveled to Napa with brother and decided to use his life safe savings to buy a barn on the Sutter Home property. They didn’t have enough money to buy paint to change the name so they kept it. Fast forward a couple of years, the Trinchero family accidentally produces the worlds first White Zinfandel. They didn’t know what to do with it, so they bottled it. It quickly became the best selling wine in the United States. After years of scraping by the Trinchero family had reached an incredible level of commercial success. As a passion project, the family recently opened up the Trinchero Family Estate wine and WOW. The property and tasting room are so stunning! They worked with a local designer, Erin Martin from Erin Martin Design to create the unique and luxurious interiors. I loved how she played with scale, using oversized lighting and text on the walls. Another one of my favorite wineries in Napa!
