I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I have a fairly large library of design books, but the titles that make their way to my coffee table have to be the best of the best. As seasons change over, I typically curate accordingly. With the holidays now behind us and the deepest days of winter setting in, I recently refreshed my coffee table with reads that inspire cozy days and nights spent in the home.
Today I thought it would be fun to share my top Winter reads! I’m hoping that it may help you enjoy the season, as opposed to constantly longing for warmer days (although with the low temps today, I too am dreaming of a winter getaway….)
LIBRARY HOUSE — THOMAS O’BRIEN
This book shares a look into the personal home of Thomas O’Brien in Bellport, Long Island, where the spaces are a testament to what the designer is known for: warm, livable and collected. The Library is O’Brien’s design studio, which is an inspiration to say the least.
MAY I COME IN? — WENDY GOODMAN
As the design editor at The New York Times, Wendy Goodman has seen a host of beautiful and eccentric homes. In this book Goodman visits more than 75 houses, each unique, and very bold in style. Every new chapter is a true vision, and is the perfect companion on a cold winter night.
SOPHISTICATED SIMPLICITY — SUZANNE KASLER
Suzanne Kasler is known for traditional designs, pretty color palettes, and timeless style. In this collection of recent unseen residences, Kasler takes us from urban residences, to the country and to the coast, reflecting throughout on her ability to reinvent spaces. In addition to the beautiful imagery, Kasler also illustrates how she keeps spaces fresh and organized. There is an abundance of ideas for anyone with a passion for interior design.
