Artist Spotlight: Kerri Rosenthal

Kerri Rosenthal

I’ve lived in Fairfield County for a number of years now, that I feel I should know of all the creatives in the area, and yet, with each day I stumble across a new artist or designer, previously unknown to me. Maybe we are feeding out of NYC, or perhaps this community is a breeding ground for creativity, either way, I count my lucky stars to live amongst such a talented group of makers.

One of the better known artists in residence is Kerri Rosenthal, an award-winning artist and interior designer. Her great love for color and pattern is innately represented throughout her bold work, which can be seen in her concept shop in downtown Westport.

Over the past decade, Kerri has painted over 3,000 works, each more colorful than the last. Neon pinks, bright yellows, and bold blues are intrinsic and captivating to her body of work, which has now extended into additional retail offerings. Kerri has her own line of textiles and wall coverings, and her most recent product, Paperless Wallpaper, has quite a buzz around it. Peel and stick wallpaper? Sign me up.

In addition to her work as an artist, she’s also a very talented interior designer and stylist. Her own home plays gallery to her body of work, so the tone of the spaces are actually very neutral and soft. Paintings move around, new ones enter, others leave, so with each change, the rooms adapt and shift.

I particularly love this space. It feels so fresh and inviting, and the pop of electric blue steals the show.
